Pack Light Ya'll

What are you carrying? Whenever I have time to reflect, like now when school is out, I am drawn deeper into myself. I tend begin to reflect on recent events and how seemingly unrelated events in my life have really all been connected one to the other ....you know, putting recent events in a larger perspective. This process of riffling through my emotional, spiritual and psychological bags always leaves me knowing that I still have clutter that needs to be sorted through. Indeed, there is always work to do, improvements to make.....But it's all good - growth is a never ending process...anything that is not growing is not living.... God is merciful.

Got any bags that need clearing? Your girl thinks that now is a good time to begin thinking along these lines. Get good and ready for the New Year. Maybe you don't need any major work - perhaps just a tune up. Whatever your state of affairs, you know it best.

Remember ya'll- you matter. The energy you put out into the world matters. Your thoughts, actions and words matter. We have a collective responsibility to do good work, but if our ish is jacked up - what we put out will follow suite. We cannot look at all that is going on in the world and naively believe that our individual actions, attitudes and beliefs don't impact beyond our immediate sphere of influence. My friends, truly we have much more power than we know.

Most importantly, let's focus on seeking to know what it is that God wants for our lives. I once heard it said that God's plan for your life is greater than anything you can imagine. Let's ask for God's help in knowing how to respond in all situations so that things might work our for the greater good...not just for our own good.

As the New Year approaches, let us turn our attention inward for a time to see where we might need to lay some burdens down by the proverbial riverside. Let's focus on folks we need to forgive, even though they still show out from time to time. Let's focus on being grateful, even when we wonder if we will have enough money to do what want/need to do. Let's focus on treating ourselves and others with kindness, love, respect and patience even though we often fall short and other's sometimes let us down. There was a song that referred to us all being "trying people"....I believe that to be true.

C'mon ya'll, let's work on trying a little tenderness when we might want to be harsh. Let's focus our energies on unpacking stuff we no longer need....you know, making those bags a little lighter. - I am down if you are.

Happy Travels,

KC

i love it

i love positivity

can you help me with my money issues though

i mean damn i cant keep a dollar in my account to save my life

i dont hold grudges so all of that other stuff wouldnt apply

but if you can find some mental way of helping people to save their money

i will love you forever :)
Man Oh Manishevitz! If I could find a way to hold onto a dollar, I would share the secret with the world! Fact is, I don't believe there is a secret other than to try to do more with less and then try to save what's left over. Even if you are able to start small...say five dollars a week. at the end of a month you will have twenty and so forth. The fact of the matter is is that times are hard....I would not beat myself up for any financial hardships one might be facing right now....like I tell my friends, you are in good company. People are having a hard time all over. Keep doing what your doing, not holding grudges etc., you may not have what you want, but living that would should at least guarantee that you will have what you need for the time being.
