So Beautiful

Good Morning Ya'll.......

I been missing for a minute now. Computer issues to blame...damn facebook virus! But, I am back. I am taking a little mini vacation right now and I am writing to you all from the sunny shores of.....wait for it....Baltimore! lol. I swear I saw Omar & Avon down town yesterday.....for real. Anyway, I am loving this weather and I am loving my life. I am feeling very, very positive this morning and I hope that you all are as well. Here is the deal. I know that there is a lot that we could and should be worried about right now. I just saw a post about the Mexican bird flu or something going on....wtf! But, the reality is this....as far as we know-we only have this one life to live, at this time, in our present bodies. What I plan to make a more concerted effort to do, at least today, is to live each and every moment to the fullest. I will appreciate sitting right here in this quiet house typing on this wireless keyboard. I will appreciate driving back home today, regardless of the traffic. I will appreciate seeing my son's smiling face no matter the condition of his new sneakers after a weekend with his Dad. I will see and appreciate the true beauty in all things, people and places no matter how deeply it is buried or how superficially exposed.

For those of you who know me, you know how much Musiq Soulchild's bedazzled outfits and crazy spellings on albums and songs annoy me. However, I have to give credit where credit is due. There is a song on his latest project, which is titled something like "Muzik synggs the Bluezzzz" or some such nonsense.....anyway, there is a song titled tell you that a song on his new Album called 'so beautiful'. I have added a link somewhere on this page for it. Please take a listen. It is simple, to the point and reflective of how I am feeling about so many aspects of my life right now.

This life can sometimes be painful, difficult and depressing. But for all the pain, there are so many point of happiness, bliss even. Look for those moments, cherish them and the beautiful people who help to make them so. Enjoy your day people.....enjoy your beautiful life.

So I heard my personal muse Maxwell on the radio yesterday (backdrop...I almost NEVER listen to regular old radio stations, either it's cd or talk radio) and who was on but Maxwell. Ever so graciously engaged in an interview with a lackluster announcer on a lackluster station. Now you all know that it has been a minute, ok seven years, since we have really heard from this brother. Seems to me, from what I hear it's about to be worth the wait. Hola y bienvenido mi amigos (hello and welcome back my friends), It's been a minute I know. I recently returned from a much needed escape to Puerto Rico. It was a very relaxing trip and gave me some time to sort some things out and look at some things from a different perspective. I came away from my trip refreshed and with a couple of realizations that I would like to lay on you. Got a minute? Good. While I would never volunteer to act as an interpreter during a meeting at my job-unless forced to do so- I really do know more Spanish than I let on. My college professors were right, language immersion is the key to bridging the gap to fluency.
