Too lazy for my own good

I hate it when I plan to do something and at the last minute decide that I am too tired or just don't feel like being bothered. I get so damn lazy sometimes, flaking out on doing things that I know damn well I will regret at some later date. Like not going to see Jill Scott for FREE in Brooklyn this past Monday because I did not feel like dealing with the crowds. I think that i am beginning to take this vacation thing a bit too far now. I think I got it twisted because this is the type of stuff you are supposed to do while on vacation..you know, like when you don't have to get up to go to work the next day. Anyway, That is just so me.

Well, I am kicking myself right now for missing Ms. Ferrell perform in NYC this past spring. This sista's voice is nothing short of magical. What range! What talent! Please take a moment to check out the clip above and try to check out her show if she comes to a town near you....trust me, you won't be disappointed.

Meanwhile, I am going to try my best to get my lazy bones in gear to check out some of my other favorite artists like Sharon Jones and the Daptones, Omar and Rahsaan Patterson next week....wish me and my lazy ass good luck.

So I heard my personal muse Maxwell on the radio yesterday (backdrop...I almost NEVER listen to regular old radio stations, either it's cd or talk radio) and who was on but Maxwell. Ever so graciously engaged in an interview with a lackluster announcer on a lackluster station. Now you all know that it has been a minute, ok seven years, since we have really heard from this brother. Seems to me, from what I hear it's about to be worth the wait. It was a very relaxing trip and gave me some time to sort some things out and look at some things from a different perspective.
