Stakes is High

Okay, okay....so it is actually me who has been M.I.A. I am so damn flaky sometimes. It is a sad state of affairs when you cannot even remember the last time you visited your own blog. The thing is that there has been soooo much going on and sooooo much to write. Fact is, I have been spending most of my days reading the New York Times Op-Ed, watching you tube clips and basically scouring all media for any in depbth information reading what other folks have been writing, particularly as it relates to the presidential race. I crave information which outlines the salient issues of our times so as to make more informed decisions as I listen to the candidates.

I just finished watching the debates. I have never watched a debate, by choice and on purpose, in my life! It was quite interesting. Actually Tom "marionette" McCain (as i like to call him) did not do as bad as I thought he would. I thought that Mr. Obama stumbled a bit from time to time, but overall stayed the course and made his points calmly and clearly, showing respect for both Mr. McCain and the moderator......and our intellect as viewing audience.

I have learned more in the past month about the economy(click the title of this blog and check out the Bublenomic piece.....I still can't embed a damn hyperlink), the SEC, Russia, diplomacy, nuclear energy and Alaska than I ever thought possible......or interesting. It is amazing. Last weekend I actually sat and read a long ass six page article in the times magazine which basically outlined the development of Mr. Obama's Economic philosophy, his ideas about how we arrived at this nadir an his plan for recovery. I could have given a rat's ass about such issues even just six months ago.

But they have my attention now good people and they should have yours too. I could say so very much right now, but I will condense my thoughts to the following:

We must vote and encourage others to vote as if our very lives depended on doing so, because IMHO, it does. I wish that I could say something funny or witty right about now, but the reality is that I am afraid for what will happen to us as a nation and to me as an individual, if we do not elect Barak Obama as our next President. Again, this coming from someone who wrote in Shirley Chisholm during the last election.

These are serious times my friends and we have got to take serious measures.
